The growing strength and influence of the Student Rugby League is not only reflected in the quality and increasing number of teams in the SRL itself, but also in the rise of the Student Rugby League Alumni.

The Alumni was formed as an extended arm of the SRL,to prevent the loss of personnel from the sport of rugby league once their student days are over by offering them a means to continue their participation in Rugby League, and also to assist the SRL itself in a variety of ways - marketing, organisation, club development etc. Old Boys clubs have been formed in london, Manchester and Leeds, and Alumni members are also active in other clubs throughout the country, many of whom play in the summer Rugby league Conference.

What are the aims of the Alumni?

• The Alumni views National Development as being crucial to the continuing strength of the sport , and the increasing involvement of student players (both current and graduate) in such developments is a firm indication of this resolve.

• The Alumni is also becoming an important voice in the broad Rugby League arena , and we aim to put the views of our members to those in authority. Alumni members can really make a difference to the way our game is run and the way it will develop!
• In addition to assisting our members in Rugby League Playing , we also aim to do what we can to offer assistance in other areas of life that become important to students once they leave university/college, such as jobs for example . Work in such areas is an ongoing task , and significant developments can be expected.

• Playing Rugby League at university/college for the vast majority, is one of the highlights of their student days, and most look back with pride and nostalgia at the at the great time had and the achievements made .The SRL Alumni aims to provide a continuation of this, post-graduation, with social events a means of keeping in touch with the SRL and Rugby League generally, and many money saving offers.The membership is growing all the time, and alongside some very influential and famous members, there are tons of regular people who have seen the benefits of joining the Alumni.The larger the numbers become , the easier it is to bring you top quality offers and discounts.
